On-Demand Webinar Shared Goals to Enhance Library Planning
Recording of the May 31, 2023 Webinar:
Many librarians have experience tracking and reporting how their services impact library and university strategic plans, but how many have reviewed goals at the college level?
LuMarie Guth and Ilana Stonebraker have researched how librarians can use college-level accreditation standards to coordinate library services. Beyond standards each school has a university strategic plan, college mission and vision, and often a college strategic plan. These local-level documents are clear guides to the culture and goals of the faculty that librarians work with every day and can be great tools in matching library service to the needs of the university. By linking the work that we do to the goals of academic units and reporting that work back to the faculty we demonstrate that we value their goals and can contribute.
As a result of having attended this webinar, participants will be able to :
- Identify the stages of a strategic plan, a well as general terminology involved
- Locate and effectively evaluate college level strategic plans for library applications
- Craft strategic messaging to faculty and administrators aligning library service with college goals
