A PLA 2022 Virtual Conference On-Demand Session

Completing a high school diploma is the key to further education and better jobs. In Pueblo we have safety nets in place for learners under 21, but what about our adults? Career Online High School has allowed us to support adult learners in returning to work at better jobs and heading toward new experiences in college. We have built strong community partnerships to support our program with funding and resources.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this on-demand webinar, participants will be able to:

• Understand the logistics of operating a COHS program at your library;
• Measure the possible economic impact of this program on their community; and
• Plan on ways to support adult learners so that they can be successful in completing diploma programs.

Panelists

Rebecca McGhee has a B.A. in English Literature with a concentration in Gender, Class, and Race from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.Ed. from Colorado State University - Pueblo in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. Rebecca taught English and Language Arts 6th-12th grade for six years. She currently works as the Adult Learning Program Administrator for the Pueblo City-County Library District.
