Where Kids Live Books: Read-a-Rama’s Immersive & Interactive Approach to Youth Literacy
Description
Reading shouldn’t be a passive or static exercise—it’s an adventure waiting to be lived. In Where Kids Live Books, Dr. Michelle H. Martin shares how educators, librarians, and community leaders can transform traditional reading and literacy programs into dynamic, multi-sensory experiences that deeply engage children. Drawing on Read-a-Rama’s proven framework, this session demonstrates how integrating high-energy movement, music, cozy spaces, and diverse children’s literature helps young readers connect with stories on a personal and emotional level. Attendees will discover practical, scalable strategies for creating environments where children don't just read books—they inhabit them, build community around them, and cultivate a lifelong love of learning.
