No-Cost Advisory: What to do when there's no budget
Since 2020, Denver Public Library has used YouTube to bring monthly booktalks to life- fun, fast, and free! Learn how this low-tech, high-impact strategy boosts reader engagement, supports staff growth, and shines a spotlight on great titles. Discover how content is reused for live programming and how publishers are looped in to amplify visibility and advisory services.
At the end of this webinar, the attendees will be able to :
- Evaluate and summarize library materials with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, in order to assemble a tailored advisory list every month in 5 hours or less
- Develop a monthly booktalk video on social media to connect their library community with library collections
- Grow public speaking confidence, increase community engagement, and develop relationships with smaller publishers. These efforts combined will lead to measurable growth in featured title circulation.
