Generative AI has fundamentally changed how college students learn and conduct research, creating a new challenge for educators: distinguishing between AI-generated content and students’ original work. How can we adapt teaching and learning to this new technological landscape? This webinar will highlight the critical role of ethical standards in using generative AI for information literacy. Through real-life case studies, explore effective teaching strategies that leverage AI tools to help students differentiate between credible and non-credible information sources. Explore the dos and don'ts of AI in the classroom and discuss practical techniques for engaging students. Discover how to develop effective prompts, align AI tools with course objectives, and ensure students can distinguish between credible and non-credible information. Acquire practical techniques and pedagogical practices designed to engage students while also informing librarians and faculty members across various disciplines.
