Parliamentary Presiding and Governance
This course offers a quick introduction to parliamentary procedure and presiding, with mock demonstrations of common motions and deliberations.
Intended Audience: Officers, Chairs, Facilitators, Members serving as part of vote-taking bodies.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand relationship between the various parliamentary rules and understand how to preside over meetings that protect the rights of members.
- Explore the relationship between delegated authority and limitations of boards and committees in governing an organization as well as how to leverage them.
- Experience examples of development and disposal of main motions and common subsidiary motions.
