Empowering Creativity: Exploring Makerspaces and Engaging STEM Programming in Libraries
Makerspaces are creative, DIY spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn. While some libraries have long-established makerspaces, others are just getting started. In this webinar, aimed at those who are relatively new to makerspaces, we’ll look at how we can put these spaces to work in a practical way. Even if you don’t have a dedicated physical makerspace in your library, you can learn the theory behind makerspaces and programming that will work for you.
Participants will explore:
- Different types of makerspaces
- 13 types of high-tech and low-tech makerspace tools of the trade
- How seven libraries are excelling with makerspaces
- How to host 10 types of programming events with or without a makerspace
