On-Demand Webinar: Best of Core Forum: Reinventing the Modern Library

Description: This webinar was previously presented in-person as a session at the 2022 Core Forum. We are hosting this webinar, with the session adapted and presented live as a virtual event, to extend its reach

Hear how one library undertook a major renovation project during the pandemic to modernize its public spaces and respond to community needs. We’ll take you inside the process of making the case for a renovation, listening to our users, identifying our major design objectives, and completing the project on-time and under-budget even with many challenges thrown our way. We’ll also share how our community has responded to the redesigned library, and highlight the ways we prioritized accessibility and inclusion. Innovative design solutions for collections, study and meeting rooms, experiential learning spaces, and outdoor gathering spaces will be featured. Participants will come away with ideas for innovative design solutions for the modern library and leadership tips for managing a large scale building project.

Participants will gain ideas and inspiration for designing a modern public library.
