Choosing the Right Social Media Platforms for Your Library
Social media is not optional when it comes to library services and marketing. The variety of social media platforms poses a major challenge when it comes to staff and resource allocation.
This webinar will help libraries pin down which platforms are the best choice for them and why. You’ll learn the pros and cons of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok as well as what types of media are most effective at reaching your community. You’ll learn concrete strategies that will help you use any platform for engagement, marketing, and outreach.
After participating in this event, you will:
- Understand why actively making a choice of social media platform, rather than just joining, is a more effective marketing strategy for your library
- Be able to compare the pros, cons, demographics, and important cultural pieces of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok
- Understand which media formats are more likely to gain reach and engagement by platform
